Theresa Silow
Theresa Silow, Ph.D., John F. Kennedy University, CA: directs the Somatic Psychology Program. Theresa received her Ph.D. in Somatic Studies from The Ohio State University. Her dissertation research focused on the function and meaning of sensation-particularly as it contributes to the experience of «self» and «no-self.»
She currently participates in a UCSF conducted and NIH funded research project that seeks to develop a comprehensive measure of body awareness. Theresa’s work is informed by her embodied spiritual practice and more than 25 years of somatic studies (Halprin Life Art Process, Continuum, BMC, Diamond Heart Work). She explores the body as the experiential matrix for psychological organization and spiritual awakening.
