Ed Sarath
Ed Sarath is Professor of Music in the Department of Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation at the University of Michigan, and Director of Michigan’s Program in Creativity and Consciousness Studies. He is a performer and recording artist and has published and delivered papers worldwide on the aesthetic, pedagogical, and transpersonal dimensions of the creative process. He is currently developing one of the first applications of Integral Theory to Music. In 2000, he designed. Michigan’s BFA in Jazz and Contemplative Studies curriculum, which is the first curriculum at a mainstream educational institution in the US to include a significant meditation component.
